Kobus Duvenhage Bouers (Pty) Ltd was established in February 2003 when Kobus Duvenhage decided to start his own building company after being contract manager to several building companies for 22 years.

The companys first project was the beautiful Thuru Lodge situated near Groblershoop. Thereafter various projects followed at the following mines: Thurusanu Diamonds in Ventersdorp, Trans Hex in Douglas and Diamond Core in Prieska and Griequastad.

Kobus Duvenhage Bouers (Pty) Ltd eventually started to do business in Upington and its first project was Villa Maison Dwellings for the Nel Family Trust. The company expanded at a rapid pace and various projects followed, such as: Showrooms for KLK Gordonia Motors and Kia Motors, Meerkat Manor, Silver Bull Guest House, forty-eight rooms and a conference centre in The Desert Palace Casino, Fish Eagle Estate, 24/7 Care Clinic at Kanoneiland, Blaauws Ecke Office Block, a variety of private homes and various building works for ACSA at the Upington Airport and Usentra.

The company had the privilege to build the beautiful and modern Dr. Harry Surtie-Hospital with a size of 32000m² in Upington from 2009 until 2012. From 2012 until September 2013 KDB also had the privilege to build the Kalahari Village Mall in Upington with a size of 33000m² in partnership with Group Five Coastal. It was done in a record time of only 11 months.

Initially Kobus Duvenhage operated his business from his home but due to the quick expansion of the business and all the additional staff appointments, he was forced to rent additional office space. With effect from the 1st of March 2007, he rented an office in Vooruitsig Road, Upington. Further expansions followed and he had no choice but to buy property on which he built bigger offices to accommodate all of KDBs personnel. With effect from August 2010 the personnel of KDB work in beautiful and convenient offices at De Drift Plaza, Olyfenhoutsdrift in Louisvale Road, Upington.

Kobus Duvenhage also expanded his business to Kathu and opened an office there in January 2007. The company became renowned in Kathu for the building of various projects but specifically for the Kalahari Golf- and hunting club house. The company also built twenty-one private homes on the Golf Estate, including the home of the famous André Markgraaff.

Recently KDB became very involved in the building of factories and packing facilities in the Upington area. Beautiful factories were erected for various Spanish Firms including Rio Glass near the Upington Airport and MEAPSA at Olyfenhoutsdrift. These buildings range in size from 2000m² to 3000m² and are being used to assemble and bend mirrors and steam pipes for installation at the Sun Parks which are currently under construction in the Upington area.

Over the years Kobus Duvenhage Bouers gained a reputation for its beautiful, neat and interesting stone finishing.

The company consists of a competent core team of construction managers, foremen, a buying department and three qualified quantity surveyors to ensure spot-on quotations and service delivery to our clients.
